The Korean American Students Conference (KASCON) is an annual symposium that attracts hundreds of undergraduate students from around the nation to discuss various issues affecting the Korean American community. Prominent leaders in politics, business, and social activism are invited to address and discuss issues concerning Korean Americans. This year, KASCON will be held at the University of California San Diego from March 29th to April 1st, 2007 (read our vision).

Who attends KASCON?

The majority of KASCON registrants are Korean American undergraduates from around the country and from Canada. However, KASCON is open to anyone with an interest in Korean American or Asian American issues and regularly attracts students of various cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

What is KASCON’s goal and how does KASCON accomplish it?

KASCON seeks to inspire and empower its participants so that they leave with the motivation to contribute to and advance the Korean American community. Through networking events, workshops, and seminars that feature active leaders, KASCON offers its participants the opportunity to learn, interact, and broaden their perspective.

What is the Mirae Foundation?

The Mirae Foundation was established in 1991 to oversee the year-long planning process of KASCON and is comprised of former KASCON Executive Directors. In Korean, Mirae means “the future,” a fitting name for the organization that presides over KASCON. The Mirae Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
